Freshman Admission

– For admission consideration, students need to have an average high school academic performance of at least 3 out of 5/ Good/ or a 3.0 GPA. If your school uses a different grading scale, please contact us.

– Students need to meet the minimum English proficiency requirements (A2 at Anglia Examination or TOEFL 42-71, IELTS 4.0-5.0)

– All documents submitted for review must be official, that is, they must be either originals or copies certified by the examining board, an official at the institution, the Ministry of Education, or consulate.

– All documents should be submitted in the original language. All documents in languages other than

English must be accompanied by a certified line-by-line, literal English translation.

Transfer Admission

Transfer admission requirements vary by major requested and the university or college the student is transferring from. Therefore, please contact us directly at  [email protected]

One should apply for admission as an international student if they are not a Kosovo citizen or a permanent resident of Kosovo. If you want to study at Universum College, you need to apply at least 6 months before the start date of your course by submitting required documents at [email protected] . Applications open in April so you can start work on the form from then. You will be able to submit your application until early September. Your application documents must be complete and submitted before the deadline. Late applications cannot be accepted.

CHOOSING THE PROGRAM

NECESSARY APPLICATION DOCUMENTS

– Birth Certificate

– Passport Copy (at least 6 months due date of expiration)

– Diploma and graduation certification from high school

– Transcript of records

– English proficiency certificate (at least a year valid; TOEFL, IELTS, ANGLIA certificates are acceptable)

SUBMISSION OF DOCUMENTS

In  order  to  enroll  at  Universum  College  you  need  to  send  the  above-mentioned  documents  at [email protected] with the subject International Student – Application.

Fees

There is no registration fee applicable. Yet, if you get a place at our college and you need to apply for a visa, you will have to pay for the first semester before applying for a visa and then Universum College will issue an Invitation Letter, which is needed for your visa application.

The regular BA program fee is 2.600 € per academic year (2 semesters). The fee covers:

– Tuition

– Access to relevant technology

– Access to physical and digital library resources

– Multimedia learning tools

– Participation in most extracurricular events

– Participation in conferences organized by Universum College

The regular MA program fee is 3.200 € per academic year (2 semesters). The fee covers:

– Tuition

– Access to relevant technology

– Access to physical and digital library resources

– Multimedia learning tools

– Participation in most extracurricular events

– Participation in conferences organized by Universum College

The regular fee for MA Double Degree is as following:

– Degree at Universum College 1600€ per semester (2 semesters).

– Degree at Ludwigshafen University 2500€ per semester (2 semesters).

*Tuition fees might be reviewed annually and can be subject to change. Fees can be paid in separate installments as agreed with the Finance Office at Universum College.

Cancellation

If for any reason you decide to cancel your application, you must inform Universum College in writing immediately. Cancellation takes effect starting from the date when Universum College receives this notification. No fees can be refunded for cancellation because of personal reasons.

Cancellation due to visa denial

A Refund Policy Document has to be signed by Universum College and the international student upon enrollment. In case of visa denial, Universum College will refund the received tuition fee of student within 30 days into student’s bank account. This, however, does not apply if the visa denial is caused by personal negligence (e.g. admitting inauthentic or incomplete documents). The official visa denial must be sent as proof.

The capital city, Prishtina, is the largest city in Kosovo with over 400.000 inhabitants, making it the administrative center. The majority of the population is ethnic Albanian but you may also meet minorities, which comprise of Turk, Serb, and Roman ethnicity. Prishtina is a very dynamic city and coming to Prishtina will be an experience of a lifetime where you may find an interesting combination of traditional and modern culture.

Travel

Adem Jashari International Airport of Prishtina (PRN) is located in the outskirts of Prishtina approximately 17 km from the city center. Getting to Kosovo is very convenient; there are plenty of flights through Pristina International Airport, or Skopje, Macedonia (2 hours drive) and Tirana (4 hours drive). There are regular buses from central Europe to Prishtina and Skopje and several daily buses from Skopje to Pristina (and it is very inexpensive).

Inter-city bus rides are very frequent and they run from early morning until late night. The buses to other cities and towns leave from the main bus station in Prishtina (10 minutes walking distance form city   center.)

Accommodation

Unfortunately, Universum College does not provide in-campus accommodation at the moment. Therefore, international students have to arrange accommodation themselves. To reach the campus faster, by bus, international students are advised to look for accommodation near the city center. Yet, since there are regular bus lines it is not that difficult to reach the campus regardless the area you decide to live in. Student life in Kosovo

Universum has a very rich campus life with student activities, clubs, and visits. A rich program of academic, social, and cultural events is organized for international students, which include public events, seminars, workshop, and conferences, and regional study visits. There are regular social events to celebrate student achievements, such as art exhibitions, music recitals, and other extracurricular achievements.
